44th Army Band Drum

Symbolism
Dark blue and yellow are the colors of the Adjutant General Corps, reflecting the organization under which bands are formed.  The Zia sun symbol upon the rectangle alludes to the shoulder sleeve insignia worn by the Band, also representing the home state of the unit, New Mexico.  The morion (helmet) denotes the Spanish heritage of the state.  The snake, from the crest of the New Mexico Army National Guard, represents wisdom and the American symbol of independence.  The stylized mountain range indicates New Mexico being a part of the "Mountain States."

The band regalia were authorized on 2 August 2012.
